Below is our list of ideas and suggestions to get you started in your kid-friendly vacation planning…

Do Some Backcountry Exploring in Glacier National Park

Ok lets be honest, Glacier National Park probably played a significant roll in you even choosing this part of the country for your vacation plans to begin with right? Rightly so! Glacier National Park is amazing, boasting more than 700 miles of hiking trails, hundreds of dazzling lakes, rivers, waterfalls and tarns to gaze upon and explore. Beautiful old-growth forests, and jaw -dropping mountain scenery that is unlike anything else you and your family has probably seen anywhere else in the US.

While there are many great hikes located all throughout the park leading to hundreds of amazing and picturesque locations, I am going to limit this conversation to just a few of the more popular, easy-to-access trails which are easily accessible and easy for the whole family to hike and enjoy, regardless of their atheletic abilities.

The Trail of the Cedars is a very short, easy and kid-friendly hike. The Trail of the Cedars is located along the western side of the park just north of Lake McDonald, in the Avalanche Creek area. This easy and level trail wanders through a grove of quite impressive old-growth Cedars some of which have a diameter of more than 15 feet! A significant part of this trail consists of a boardwalk which is raised to protect the fragile forest floor, and this is a very easy but very enjoyable hike.

If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you might want to continue along the Avalanche Trail which starts near the half-way point on the Trail of the Cedars Loop, and leads further back through the forest to a beautiful cirque where you will find idyllic Avalanche Lake reflecting a perfect mirrored image of the beautiful surrounding mountains of Glacier National Park.

Near the top of the Going-to-the-Sun road you will find the trailhead for the Hidden Lake Trail starting just behind the Logan Pass visitors center and striking out across the beatuful alpine meadow back to Hidden Lake. Unlike the Avalanche and Cedar Trails, this trail passes mostly through higher alpine country so the views are sweeping and impressive. You will have a good chance of seeing some interesting wildlife up here, including hoary marmots, mountain goats, and big horn rams. Like the Trail of the Cedars, much of this trail consists of a boardwalk, which makes it quite an easy and family-friendly hike to complete. At the end of this trail you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of hidden lake, a beautiful alpine lake situated almost a mile above sea level and reflecting the stunning blue color of Montana’s Big Sky.

Along the eastern side of the park one great hike that is pretty easy, and would be enjoyable for the whole family is the hike to St. Mary Falls. This hike is less than a mile and the thundering roar of the waters at St. Mary Falls is something that the kids are sure to enjoy and not soon forget. If your feeling more adventurous, you can continue on down the trail a bit further and see another stunning waterfall called Virginia Falls. The trail to Virginia Falls is a little more taxing, but still easily doable, and definitely worth the effort.

Let The Kids Become Official Junior Rangers!

A fun endevor for kids to take part in is the Glacier Park Junior Ranger Program. In this program, children who visit the park will attend a ranger-led program and receive a fun Junior Ranger activity booklet. If they complete at least 5 of the activities in the booklet, they can return the booklet to any of the park visitor centers through the park and receive their official Junior Ranger badge.

Go For a Horseback Ride!

There are many opportunities throughout the Flathead Valley and the rest of Glacier Country where you and your kids can get your ‘cowboy’ on, with horseback riding, cookout dinners under the big sky sitting around a campfire, wagon rides, and so much more!

A few of the popular spots throught the area include the Bar W Guest Ranch, Gynor’s Resort, Lonesome Dove Guest Ranch and more

The Bar W Guest Ranch is a 3000+ acre ranch located along Spencer Lake just west of the town of Whitefish. This working ranch offers unique opportunities for horseback riding, riding lessons, real ranch-style cattle work, horsemanship skills training, wagon rides and dinner rides, campfire cookouts, square dancing and so much more.

Also located a few miles west of Whitefish Montana and situated in a picture-perfect valley with outstanding views of the surrounding mountains, Gaynor’s Resort is a beautiful resort ranch which also offers many western-themed activities including roping and horseback riding, practice bull riding, feeding the horses, wagon rides, and lots more.

Located south of Kalispell near Flathead Lake, the Lonesome Dove Ranch also offers horseback riding opportunities, as well as lessons in horsemanship, campfire cookouts and more.

Get Into The Zone

The Zone Family Fun Center is located just north of Kalispell along highway 2, just a few miles south of Glacier Peaks RV Park. The Zone offers all kinds of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy, including lazer tag, the Krazy Zone climbing center featuring climbing ropes, slides and foam ball launchers, a bowling alley, bounce zone, arcade, and much more! You can also order delicious pizza and ice cream while you are enjoying the attractions. This one is sure to please the kiddos.

A Mountain of Adventure

If you are looking to unwind and satisfy your desires for an adrenaline rush, then the Whitefish Mountain Resort is the place you want to go. Many recent aditions to this resort have made it as popular a destination during the summer time as it is in the winter time. Here you will find an alpine slide, an Aerial Adventure Park and obstacle course, a unique “Walk in the Treetops” attraction that lets you walk from treetop to treetop through the forest, and more. For those who really want a rush of adrenaline, Whitefish Mountain Resorts’ Zip Line tours are a can’t miss attraction. You can choose either a 5 or a 7 line zip tour, with zips that will fly you through the air 300 feet above the forest floor, and for distances of up to 1500 feet!

Experience a Whitewater Adventure

The middle fork of the Flathead River is famous for it’s whitewater rafting opportunities. In fact, stretches of this river were used in the filming of the Hollywood production “The River Wild” in 1994.

There are several river rafting tour operators in the area that will arrange for half day or full day rafting trips that will take you through some of Montana’s scenic back country, and through some exhilarating class II and III rapids.

The Amazing Fun Center

Located just up the road from Columbia Falls, on the way to Glacier Park, you will find the “Amazing Fun Center” another family-friendly fun center with go carts, bumper boats, mini-golf, and a walk-through maze.

The Flathead Valley and northwest Montana is full of fun and adventure for the entire family to enjoy. And Glacier Peaks RV Park is ideally centrally located offering easy access to all of these fun family attractions and adventures.

Grizzly Bear Cubs – Glacier Babies Wildlife Series

Grizzly Bear
Grizzly Bears are one of the more popular animals that live in Glacier National Park, however actually seeing one in it’s natural habitat can be a pretty rare occurrence, as this animal tries to avoid human interaction as much as possible and tends to stay more in Glacier’s back country.

Grizzley Bear Cubs

Every other year, grizzlies produce one to four young cubs (usually two). The cubs are small and weigh only around one pound at birth. While it is rare to see a grizzley in the park unless you are hiking in the remote back country, if you should happen to see one, please use caution, especially if it is a sow with cubs. A sow is quite protective of her offspring and will take steps to protect her offspring if she feels threatened.

Montana’s Flathead Valley: A great winter time destination!

It’s no secret that the Flathead Valley in northwest Montana is a beautiful place to visit in the summertime. You’ll find endless hiking trails to explore, hundreds of lakes, streams and rivers for fishing, whitewater rafting, water skiing and more. Of course there is also Glacier National Park, which is perhaps the biggest drawing card to the area. Its true, Montana’s Flathead Valley is certainly one of the best places to enjoy your vacation in the summer time, but what you may not know is that the Flathead Valley also makes a fantastic wintertime destination.

Many people don’t realize that Glacier National Park is open year round, and offers incredible opportunities for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and wildlife viewing during the winter time. Going-to the sun road is closed to through traffic during the winter months due to an abundance of snow, but you can still enter the park from both the western and eastern gateways and travel several miles into the park by automobile. From there you can set out on skis or snowshoes to explore the parks beautiful scenery in its winter dress.

Whitefish Mountian ResortOutside the park there are hundreds of miles of trails, both groomed and un-groomed where you can ride snowmobiles and explore some of Montana’s incredible backcountry beauty.

You’ll also find hundreds of miles of Nordic ski trails outside the park many of which are groomed and maintained.

Ice fishing is another popular pastime in the winter. Many of the smaller lakes freeze over during the winter and some of the larger ones as well. These frozen lakes provide great opportunities for dropping your line and pulling out a trophy fish…or at least dinner for the evening.

Probably the biggest draw to the area in the winter is the world renown Whitefish Mountain ski resort. With nearly 3000 acres of skiable terrain available and more than 300 feet of snowfall each year on average, the Whitefish ski resort is a premier winter destination for those looking for some downhill adventure.

The resort town of Whitefish is a popular destination in its own right during both the winter and summer months. You will find plenty of après ski activities to keep you busy after day full of skiing on the mountain. Whitefish provides a nice mix of old west feel with new west convenience and opportunities. You will find a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, bars, boutiques and more to shop and enjoy in downtown Whitefish.

If you are looking for a great lodging option that is ideally located central to both Whitefish and Glacier Park, you can’t do better than the cabins at Glacier Peaks RV Park and Resort. Glacier Peaks is located just outside the town of Columbia Falls which is just minutes away from both Glacier Park and Whitefish.

The kitchen area provides plenty of cabinet space, and appliances for making your own meals.

The cabins at Glacier Peaks RV Park and Resort include either standard cabins or smaller sleeper cabins. These cabins offer a studio-like living space with a comfortable sleeping area a small kitchen and a dining area. There is also a large private bathroom with shower.

The great thing about the cabins at Glacier Peaks RV Park is their central location to the major attractions of northwest Montana. The western gate to Glacier Park is just 20 miles to the east and Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort is only about 12 miles to the west. Flathead Lake is only about a half hour to the south, and you can find easy access to thousands of miles of both cross country skiing and snowmobiling trails just minutes away.

Camping Near Glacier National Park For Your Next Vacation

glacier national park rv resortIf you are planning a family vacation, you should consider camping near glacier national park. Camping is a lot of fun and remains a very affordable way to go on a vacation. You should read this article to learn how you can plan a fun camping trip.

If you are interested in hiking and glaciers, one of the best destinations to plan for your vacation is Glacier National Park in Montana. The northwestern part of the state is covered with thick forests and rugged mountains and the infamous Glacier National Park is one of the few remaining places in the world where you can see authentic glaciers living quietly in their alpine hideaways. Witnessing one of these descendents from the last ice age is really a special thing to do for the entire family. The Rocky Mountains are usually a warm place in the summer months but storms can move in quickly so regardless of the time of year that you visit, you should always come prepared for diverse weather.

Glacier Park can be a dangerous place if you do not have enough experience with hiking. Many of the trails and rocky overlooks can be slick, and the footing can be unsure especially near rivers and waterfalls where the rocks are wet and mossy. Take special care in these situations and when hiking on trails that you are unfamiliar with. Also, never try and cross a flowing stream or river. Even if the water looks fairly calm on the surface like it is not flowing very fast, the undercurrents can be flowing significantly faster and can easily sweep you off your feet and pull you under water.

It is best to stay lower on the mountains if you are still new to hiking. You will be able to see some beautiful landscapes and get plenty of exercise. Plan on exploring the glaciers and higher alpine meadows once you have more experience with this type of terrain and some quality equipment. If possible, find an experienced guide who can take you hiking along some of Glaciers backcountry trails if you are new to the area and unfamiliar with the geography.

Camping and RVing will be a lot more pleasant if you have the right equipment. You should visit your nearest sporting good store to learn more about the camping and RV supplies that you will need for your trip, or do some research on the Internet.

If you are planning on camping outside under the stars, then you need to find a warm and comfortable tent as well as some good inflatable mattresses or mats. Sleeping on the ground is fun but your back will be painful by the end of your vacation if you don’t have a good mattress to sleep on. You should also consider bringing a generator, some camping equipment you can use to cook and perhaps a small fridge or at least a cooler for your food. Camping equipment can be expensive but remember that you will be able to use it for several years. If you have friends who often go camping, ask if you can borrow their equipment for a few weeks.

If you are planning on RV camping, then you should remember to do the routine mantenance checks like checking the tire pressure, and all the fluid levels (oil, antifreeze, power steering, brake fluids, etc.) before you leave on your vacation, to make sure everything looks good. Don’t forget the propane if you want to prepare meals on the stove during your trip. If you have room, you might want to carry along a couple bicycles or an inflatable raft or kayak for your trip. The Glacier Park area has a lot of great places to ride bikes and a ton of rivers and lakes to float.

While tent camping and RV camping is allowed inside the park near the eastern and western gates, it is important to note that larger vehicles such as RV’s are not allowed to drive the Going to the Sun Road, so you should plan to have alternate transportation with you if you want to explore the park. Or you could arrange for a ride in one of Glacier’s Red Jammer Busses or onboard the free Glacier Shuttle Transportation.

There are quite a few very nice camping and RV parks just outside of Glacier Park as well. One of the best RV parks near Glacier Park is Glacier Peaks RV Park is located in the town of Columbia Falls Montana, just a short drive from the western gate to the park. This serene RV Park is situated at the edge of town and offers easy access not only to Glacier Park and Columbia Falls, but also to the towns of Whitefish and Kalispell as well as the Whitefish Mountian Resort where you will find plenty of recreational opportunities from downhill skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, to hiking, biking, and zp-lining in the summer, just to name a few!

Glacier Peaks RV Park offers pull-through sites for both large and small RV’s as well as a few lodge cabins, and several large grassy areas for recreation of family/friend get-togethers.
Glacier Peaks RV Park is also very reasonably priced and provides great service and exceptional hospitality.

Going camping near glacier national park is a great idea for a vacation with your family or your friends. Follow the tips you just read to plan your camping trip and try finding people who visited this area if you have some specific questions.

Glacier National Park Vacation and The Ideal Glacier Park RV Resort

Are you thinking about going on a trip with your RV? You should consider going to one of America’s beautiful national parks! National Park destinations are perrect for the RV traveler, because they are beautiful, and full of fun activities, interesting wildlife, and rich history! One of my favorite national parks to visit is Glacier National Park in Montana. Read this article to learn more about planning your next trip to a Glacier Park, and the Glacier National Park RV resort options that are available to you in the area.

If you want to see a glacier, do some hiking, witness some really cool wildlife, and enjoy plenty of fresh air, beautiful scenery and great adventure, then you should consider going to a destination in the Rocky Mountains with my personal recommendation being Glacier National Park. There are several parks along the Rockies but the parks located in Montana are the best ones if you want to see some really cool mountains, wildlife and even some glaciers still living from the last ice age. Glacier National Park is an amazing destination, because it offers many attractions that you can not fine in other national park destinations around the country.

There are several options for accommodation in the Glacier Park area. Many campgrounds, hotels, and even a few great RV resorts to choose from. You should do some careful planning of the glacier national park rv resorts in the area before you start your trip. Many of the offerings inside and nearer to the park can be very limiting in what they provide as far as amenities and attractions are concerned. If you need gas for your vehicle, or food for your lunch, you could find yourself having to drive a good distance if you don’t research and plan to stay in the most convenient RV resort ahead of time.

The best side of the park to stay at in my opinion is the west side. There are many more towns located along the western side of the park including Columbia Falls, Kalispell, and Whitefish Montana. I also personally think that the west side is the more beautiful side of the park, and offers a lot more choices for activities and adventure.

Columbia Falls is a great little town located just a short distance from the west gate to Glacier National Park. It is here where you will find several of the RV resorts that are most convenient to both Glacier Park and modern convenience.

A few of the RV resort offering in the area include Columbia Falls RV Resort, Mountain View RV Park and Glacier Peaks RV Resort. In my humble opinion, Glacier Peaks RV Resort is one of the nicest options in the area and here is why.

For one thing, this RV park is laid out in a really nice park-like setting. It offers nice privacy, and lots of shade trees to keep you cool during the warm summer days. It also provides some really beautiful mountain views in between the trees.

Staying at Glacier Peaks RV Resort is a really laid-back experience. The people who run the resort are super friendly and will really go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Glacier Peaks RV Resort also offers a really great location on the outskirts of town, and not far from a junction that allows for quick access to the park as well as Kalispell, Whtiefish and the Whitefish Mountain Resort ski area. You will also be within a mile or less from gas stations, grocery stores, gift shops and more.

Whatever RV resort you choose, you should make sure to call ahead to plan your visit. You want to make sure that the RV resort you are interested in still has plenty of room available for the dates of your vacation and ask if you will have access to electricity or need to bring your own generator.

Visiting a glacier national park RV resort is exciting but you need to make sure your RV is in good shape for this trip. If you live far away from Montana, take your RV to a mechanic to make sure your vehicle is ready for the trip. Have some repairs done if you need to and get the oil changed too. Map your itinerary carefully and give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination. If you have a long drive, it is best to spend the night in an RV resort somewhere along the way instead of driving for long hours. Stop regularly to put more gas in your RV, check the pressure in your tires and give everyone a chance to get out of the vehicle.

Don’t forget to plan some fun activities for your vacation. Glacier National Park is a great park for outdoor recreation such as hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, fishing boating and more. You can also fine some other fun activities in the area like scenic helicopter tours, zip lines, alpine slides and more. Be prepared to spend plenty of time outside and get some exercise. Invest in some quality hiking equipment and do not forget to bring some maps. If you are not used to hiking, start with some easy trails.

Also don’t forget to plan a trip to hike into one of the still active glaciers within the park. It is really a special thing to get to see these ancestors of the last Ice Age, and their life span may be limited, and scientists claim that they are melting away at a rather alarming rate, so you should visit them while you have the chance.

You should be able to plan a great trip with your family and your RV thanks to these tips. Do some more research on the area you want to visit before planning your trip. But if you are looking for a really fun adventure and a great base camp to start from, my advice is Glacier National Park and the Glacier Peaks RV Resort!

Wonderful Experiences Camping Near Glacier National Park

Most people have never been to Montana, and it’s not one of those famous destinations that millions flock to during vacation times. However, that is one of the reasons that camping near Glacier National Park is such a treasured destination.

There are many campsites available inside the park as well as in the communities near the park. Glacier Park itself encompasses more than one-million acres and it is bordered by two US national forests. You can find a few campsites both inside and outside the park that are free, but most of them are primitive camping and are located in those “off-the-beaten-path” areas. If you want the extra amenities like electric hookups, and bathrooms with running water, you will find that it will cost you a little. Still, Glacier National Park is not an expensive destination, and there’s no better way to enjoy the area than by camping in the great outdoors.

A great camping option that offers both the pleasure of the outdoors and also the convenience of camping close to the stores, restaurants and other conveniences of town, is the Glacier Peaks RV Park in Columbia Falls Montana. This wonderful little RV Resort and campground is located less than a half hour from Glacier National Park which allows you to have quick and easy access to the park but also be close to town for things like groceries, restaurants, entertainment and more.

Flathead National Forest and Lewis and Clark National Forest are the two forests that surround the park. With millions of acres of wilderness area to enjoy throughout the park and the area surrounding it, you will find that no matter how long your vacation is, it is impossible to see and do everything that there is to do in the Glacier National Park area. The park itself boasts more than 700 miles of hiking trails, as well as hundreds of lakes, rivers and streams to enjoy.

Camping In Glacier Park

Glacier Park is the home to many wild and wonderful creatures as well. If you are tent camping in or near the park, you will want to make sure that you clean up thoroughly before leaving your camp for the day or before going to sleep at night, as many of your “wild neighbors” will not pass up the opportunity for a free lunch or dinner if they see the opportunity. There is a healthy population of both black bears and grizzly bears inside Glacier Park, and they do wonder into camp on a regular basis. Of course there are park rangers on duty to help you if any emergencies arise, but it is still best to use common sense when you are in bear country and keep a clean campsite.

You also want to be sure you stay on top of the weather conditions when camping in Glacier Park. The weather in this very mountainous region can change on a whim. And temperatures can vary widely from day to night. Make sure to bring extra blankets along on your trip, especially if you will be camping outside.

Activities in Glacier National Park

You better pack the fly rod, and the rest of your gear and tackle along on your trip. Glacier National Park and the surrounding area is a fisherman’s paradise. The streams both inside and near the park are superb for fly-fishing. And many of the lakes in the area offer some of the best lake trout fishing that you will find anywhere! Including the world-renown Flathead Lake!

There are many other pastimes and activities throughout the area that you are sure to enjoy as well. You can go hiking through the wilderness, visit Logan’s Pass, go for a scenic boat ride, horseback tour, whitewater rafting or even a scenic helicopter tour! And lets not forget about Glacier’s historic Red Bus tours! These iconic Red Buses have been serving the Glacier Park visitor for many decades now and to tour this majestic park in a Red Bus is an experience that you will never forget!

Camping near Glacier National Park is not like any other camping experience you’ve had the pleasure of enjoying in the past. You need to be sure that you give yourself some time to enjoy it all. You will feel relaxed, out of the hustle and bustle, and can you imagine what a Montana sunset will look like as it sets behind the rugged peaks of Glacier National Park painting the surface water of Saint Mary Lake a crimson red? The sight is too beautiful for words!

Take the tips you’ve read in this article to help you make a decision about your Glacier National Park camping experience. You are going to have the time of your life, and you’re going to want to return again and again.

Why Choose Glacier National Park For Your Vacation Destination This Year?

Glacier National Park RV camping

Glacier National Park

Summertime is approaching. Have you made your vacation plans yet? Millions of people every year from across America and around the world choose to make a Glacier National Park in northwest Montana the destination for their family vacation.

Have you ever considered Glacier National Park for your family vacation? If you haven’t, maybe it’s about time you set your sights on this beautiful corner of the country which has become known as the crown of the continent.

Why consider Glacier National Park for your vacation this year? Well for starters, if more than 2 million people choose to make this national park their vacation destination every year, there must be something to it right?

Glacier National Park encompasses more than 1,000,000 acres of wilderness area in northwest Montana just below the Canadian border. This park is serene and beautiful and offers one of the last truly spectacular opportunities in the United States to find vast stretches of wild, pristine nature, virtually untouched by man.

The wildlife is abundant in Glacier National Park. The scenery is breathtaking. Outdoor adventure abounds. And Glacier National Park is one of the few places left in the United States which has received the title of being a “dark sky ecosystem.” Which means that this area is still relatively free of light pollution, allowing you to witness a dazzling array of stars and other heavenly bodies in Montana’s big night sky.

Room To Stretch Your Legs And Avoid The Crowds

The great majority of the 2,000,000+ visitors that visit Glacier National Park every year stick primarily to the tourist hubs at the eastern and western gateways of the park. As well as driving the Going-to-the-Sun Road which connects the town of West Glacier on the western end of the park, to the community of St. Mary on the eastern side of the park. The Going-to-the-Sun Road truly is one of the most remarkable stretches of highway in the United States if not the world. And the communities located at the eastern and western gates of the park are truly fascinating as well. Yet there is so much more to Glacier National Park than the average tourist will ever see.

The Glaciers of Glacier National Park

Hidden behind the majestic peaks of many of Glacier National Park’s rugged mountains linger remnant’s of the Ice Age which is responsible for building this beautiful national Park. Even today, centuries after the official end of the Ice Age that carved of the peaks and valleys of Glacier National Park, you will find lingering relics of these great rivers and lakes of ice. Many of the glaciers which remain in the park are located in the aptly named “Many Glacier” area of the park. The change in weather patterns in recent years is causing many of these glaciers to melt quicker than the snows of winter can replenish and maintain them, and scientists predict that the remaining glaciers will probably shrink down to miniscule size, and could disappear completely by the mid-21st century. It would be a travesty not to be able to witness firsthand these beautiful glaciers which are such a part of the park’s history before they are gone.

The Lakes and Rivers of Glacier National Park

Another byproduct of the beautiful glaciers which cling to the shaded walls of Glacier Park’s rugged mountain peaks are the stunning glacier-fed rivers, tarns and alpine lakes which can be found throughout the park.

Glacier-fed lakes are not like typical lakes. They are bright blue in color, almost turquoise or aquamarine. This beautiful color comes from the ‘glacier flour’ which flows down from the melting glaciers high above on the mountain walls. This glacier flour is a mix of sediment created by the slow-moving glaciers which even today are slowly carving away at the mountain walls.

Many of Glacier National Park’s lakes and streams are teeming with native trout, a sportsman’s nirvana! You will not even need a fishing license to fish within the park. Although make sure that you do talk to a Ranger or consult a fishing guide which covers the park, because not all of the lakes and waterways inside the park are open to fishing, and those that are, do have special regulations regarding what type of fish can be kept and what has to be released.

Wilderness Trails and Wildlife Inside Glacier National Park

Mountain Goats in Glacier National Park

Glacier Park Mountain Goats

You will find more than 700 miles of hiking trails within Glacier National Park. These trails range in length and difficulty from mild blacktop covered trails and boardwalks to almost perfectly vertical goat trails and alpine traverses which are covered in snow 10 months out of the year. These trails will take you to some of the most breathtaking scenic back-country you will ever see. And the park is rich with a diverse ecosystem of birds, fish and other types of wildlife. The park is known for its generous population of both grizzly bears and black bears, along with mountain goats, Moose, dear, elk, mountain lions and various other critters like the cuddly hoary marmot.

Glacier National Park is truly an amazing destination. One that should be included on everyone’s to-do list at least once before they die. And the sooner the better. It just wouldn’t make sense to put off visiting this amazing national park until after it’s glaciers have disappeared when you have the opportunity to still witness their majesty and beauty today.

Make plans to visit Glacier National Park this year, and make plans to stay at the Glacier Peaks RV Park when you come. Glacier Peaks RV Park is an RV park and campground located not far from the western gateway to Glacier National Park in the town of Columbia Falls Montana. Staying at Glacier Peaks RV Park provides you the perfect opportunity to enjoy the park as well as the many other activities and attractions that can be found in the Flathead Valley of northwest Montana including the Whitefish Mountain resort, Flathead Lake, the many golf courses throughout the Valley and so much more.
